A History of Expertise
Warren F. Hamilton left a promising position in March 1948, as a screw machine demonstrator for Brown & Sharpe, to start Norwood Screw Machine Company in an unheated garage with six Brown & Sharpe machines. The Company prospered through the Korean War and in 1960 Warren’s son, Bruce, started working at the family business after school and during the summer months.
In 1964 Norwood Screw moved to a new 2500 sq. ft. building and grew to be one of the most respected screw machine job shops in the Northeast. Bruce worked at Norwood Screw full time as an estimator, cam & tool designer and set-up person, with absences to attend Brown University and later the United States Submarine Service during the Vietnam War.
In 1979 Bruce founded Brada Manufacturing, Inc. with six Brown & Sharpe machines with capacities ranging from 1/16th to 3/4” to complement Norwood Screw’s larger capacities. Brada grew steadily and moved to its current facility in 1990 leasing 5,000 sq. ft. of a 30,000 sq. ft. building.
Shortly, Bruce’s son, Michael joined the Company and a new division was created with the purchase of new, state of the art, computerized numerical control (C.N.C.) machinery.
Both divisions continued to grow forcing the purchase of the building and quadrupling the production area to 20,000 sq. ft.
With a full time quality control department answering directly to Michael Hamilton, Brada continues to provide quality machined parts for customers throughout the Aerospace, Fluid Transfer & Control, Medical and Fastener Industries to name a few.
Brada Manufacturing, Inc. is committed to supplying a quality, on-time product at competitive cost to our customers and looks forward to further excellence and continued expansion.
